Greg's parents reveal that they are going on a weekend trip and are taking Manny with them. Rodrick takes advantage of this and tells Greg that they are throwing a party together. In the morning they were released and Rowley ran home. As Greg confronts Rodrick about what has happened, they suddenly receive a call from their mother, Susan, who informs them that Manny is ill and that they will return home immediately. The brothers quickly cleaned the house and chased the rest of the guests away before replacing the bathroom door, which had 'Rodrick's Rules' permanently written by Rodrick's door.
